Linking people & redesigning systems
for a healthy future
From time to time Zero Waste Australia will be asking its members for
donations that will be used expressly for specific programs and
projects.
Revolve was founded 20 years ago in Canberra, Australia's National Capital city, as a community charity with the sole objective of creating jobs from the waste stream by scavenging and selling donated goods which would have previously gone to landfill.
After these 20 years and generating around $20 million dollars, and at one time more than 30 jobs for the local community, the business was put out to tender by Canberra's Government. Revolve had to move and is struggling to survive on a site with no services or amenities.
Mal Williams of the Zero Waste International Alliance has launched a world wide appeal to save Revolve. You can contact Mal via email on Mal.Williams@cylch.org.uk or Kim Russell Executive Director of Zero Waste Australia on Kim.Russell@zerowasteaustralia.org .
A target of $50,000AUD has been set to help revolve get back on its feet and continue its valuable community and environmental work.
